As a key component of our effort to help men caring for the women they love, we help the children they love.

Accompanying a sick parent to the hospital can be stressful for children. When the parent is admitted for treatment and must stay overnight, it can be downright frightening. Real Men CARE wants to make children’s hospital visiting experiences a bit more positive.

When making sure that everything possible is being done for his chronically ill wife, it can be difficult for a husband and father to keep a scared, bored, or overwhelmed child entertained. The Real Men Care® Package Program provides comfort and support to children of chronically ill and/or disabled mothers by assembling and shipping to them a survival kit of sorts to help reduce the anxiety, worry, and stress associated with visiting their parent in the hospital.

The KidKare Kit is filled with well wishes, hope, and love, and intended to lift the spirits of the children, helping the entire family navigate through the hospital experience.

Provided one-time only – at no charge – to kids whose ailing parent has an expected three-day or more hospital stay, the Kit is a six quart sturdy plastic (or cardboard, depending on shipping location) storage box filled with a healthy snack, small gifts (coloring and/or other books), a toy, bubbles, and a miniature game to keep a child busy and happy during the sometimes long hospital visits. Each kit contains items selected for a specific age and gender and also includes a blank card for the child to create their own message or drawing for Mom. Instead of sitting around distressed and worried, the child can spend their time brightening Mom’s day.

Turnaround time is approximately 24-48 hours, depending on your location. It is our goal to one day soon meet a service standard of a 24-hour turnaround for delivery from receipt of request.
