We believe that when we help Real Men, we help their families grow stronger.

Real Men (C)aregiver (A)ssistance (Restoration) (E)mpowerment is the only national nonprofit organization solely dedicated to addressing the needs of male spousal caregivers, focusing primarily on the unique needs of the young male, spousal caregiver.  Our mission is to support, uplift, and encourage male caregivers by providing them with the services, financial assistance, and spiritual and emotional management techniques to adequately fulfill their caregiver tasks and responsibilities. Funds raised will go to programs and projects that help wives living with chronic conditions and their male spousal caregivers improve their daily lives, reducing the burden of the caregiver and the family as a whole.

Vision

Real Men CARE envisions a world where every male spousal caregiver, regardless of age, has access to the appropriate tools and support services necessary to care for themselves and the women they love. While we are based in Maryland, we are a national non-profit, and expect to expand throughout the United States.

Whether they are new to caregiving or have been on this journey for a while, we’re here to help.

A Few of Our Goals and Initiatives:

  • Advocate on behalf of male spousal caregivers, to  ensure that they have access to quality services, financial assistance, and the spiritual and emotional support needed to advocate for their female spouses
  • Create awareness of husbands who care for wives affected by a chronic illness or disability through media campaigns, conducting outreach via networking and distributing brochures, and hosting and caregiver events in the community
  • Provide education and training to help the male spousal caregivers take care of their various caregiver tasks and responsibilities, which can be made easier with the right information and skills
  • Help reduce the overall level of stress of male spousal caregivers by providing them with the tools and resources needed to adequately care for their female spouses
  • Support a forum and create a compassionate brotherhood where men who act as caregivers for their wives can get advice, ask for help, or simply share their thoughts and experiences with regard to caregiving
